FUSION — It was a mesmerizing musical performance incorporating ancient instruments into a modern context, recognizing Asian and Muslim roots with a Western outlook, blending the old with the new, the east and the west, and marriage between Zapin and Blues….

Farid Ali and his Gambus has definitely opened up a whole new dimension where he took this lovely instrument to the other side of the world…Kudos! *Applause*

Between Love & Friendship…

Both are so much related to each other. However both are dissimilar.

Platonic friendship is a very open relationship. We don’t feel reservations about it. We are comfortable with our friends. Although we care & respect for each other views, we feel free to express ourselves without worrying about the argument. Infact in friendship, arguments and teasing each other are a welcome aspect.

Sahabat sejati – can always be count upon in an emergency. If we care for a person, we are ready to help that person and we share most of our thoughts with that person whom we call our good friends. We are always sure that our friends will understand why we acted in a certain way. The friendship is so deep, that most of the things are automatically understood by our friends.

Whilst in love we feel very strongly about our beloved that all other things or thoughts seem meaningless. We hardly speak our mind, rather we speak what we think will please our beloved.

Sayang– Although all the sharing & caring we had with our friends are taken for granted, love still transcends all this. A loving relationship makes one so much attached to the other that one gets pained if our beloved is hurt. Plus, love also involves physical element.

Indeed, the comparison below from an unknown source says it all:

Differences :

1. You love all friends, but all your friends are not your lovers.
2. Friendship comes more out of logic, sharing, caring, sacrificing and time, love is more about unexplained attraction than about logic.
3. You can stay without a lover, but cursed is the man, who doesn’t have friends.

“The fire fades away, most of everyday. It’s full of tired excuses. But it’s too hard to say. I wish it was simple, but we give up easily. You’re close enough to see that, you’re the other side of the world to me.” – KT Tunstall

“The meek shall inherit the earth”

There was i, making my usual stopover at Tower Records on my way back to the parking lot, wanting so badly to treat my severe addiction to melodious tune.

Indeed I was so eager with my newly bought CD that I tore the plastic cover off the CD immediately after I stepped out of the store. Walking through the tunnel passing by restless souls towards the parking lot situated at the far end of the pathway, like nobody’s business i care not as i flipped through the pages of wonderful lyrics written mostly by her. My idol. Yeah, she’s someone I really look up to.

As I pop in her CD in my car. I now obsessed as I keep getting her songs

stuck in my head, chanting divine words of wisdom. Indeed it was an excellent mashed-up CD, i had it on constant rotation in my car for a few days now… Ahh, truly heavenly~

New_born_v1

Alhamdulillah…

A new life is born!

Congratulations to Misha & hubby for having a healthy great looking son, Baby Izzmer Muqri (Ben Junior’s lil’ bro).

After an excruciating hours of labor, Baby Izzmer was brought into this world. What a great joy they must felt when holding their precious baby in their arms…

And what a great joy it is for all who know and love’em to see something so wonderful happen in their life..

Both of us (Anod & Katod) were pretty much excited to see how innocent and cute baby Izzmer looks, only to frown (a lil’ bit) when Misha starts telling story about how “it” tore apart from 4cm to 8cm, cant help but imagining the agony, we pled Misha to stop. =) Ah, thank God!~ *pheww*

Observing the baby, i noticed how amazed the baby is by the finest things in life and it makes me wonder how we, as adults, forget the simple stuff around us. Example; gazing into the sky and dreaming or just being amazed by the amount of colors around us. Blessed by the simple things happened in life…

There goes, three of my best buddies during school times (Pure Maniacs) having their second child already! (Sis Ruzita, you’re next eyh?)

And just around the corner, my fellow #Retardian mate, Lurvely Pait is expecting her first child also sometime end of this month. (Relax dear, breath in, breath out, Push. Push. Pushhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Haha~)

Not to mention three of my colleagues (Mak Buyongs’ Club – Mim, Lyn, Wawa) in my lil’ department are also counting the days to labour (Pandai yer, due time budget cycle~bijak bijak.heheh!)

Aha, it’s the year of the Rat where rats are associated with the first hours of each day, being one of the few animals active at that time (My oh my, have you guys been sooo active lately, huh? *wink*).

Never mind that last year’s hit film– Ratatouille which crack the kids up and Mickey Mouse and Tom & Jerry which have been long time favourites. Truth is rats are highly affectionate animals (in contribution to medical) which all of you,“Mak Buyongs” have obviously shown! *wink*

As such, Rats represent a beginning. May the birth of your child marks the beginning of joy, opportunity and good prospects in your life!

As for myself, i think i might have been overdue. It has been forever that I have this first trimester-like bulging tummy which is growing bigger and bigger by the days (only lacking of baby kicking from inside). I think I should get myself induced already…for God sake, Dr. Lipo help!~ J

*blink* *blink*

“…Mindset change for superior performance is one of PETRONAS change themes.. yackity yack~”

*ouch!* (pinching my own self just to keep me awake)

“..Let me share with you some additional tips on conducting Focus Group Discussion….Behold, the BODY LANGUAGE OF LIES …”

*wha??* (eyes wide open)

Now that’s more like it…We’re finally speaking the same language now…Por Favor~ J

Yeah- well no offense, but above all…that subject really caught my attention today…

The speaker started off by showing us a scene from the movie called, “The Negotiator” starring Samuel L. Jackson & Kevin Spacey. It’s basically about an expert negotiator who was driven to the edge when he was framed for the murder of his partner where his only chance to prove his innocence is to take hostages himself and find out who’s running the conspiracy before it’s too late…(Oooh, dramatic!)

Negotiator

In the movie itself, Samuel L. Jackson who played Lieutenant Danny Roman did mentioned;

“A quick lesson in lying. See, this is what us real cops do: We study liars. Example: If I ask you a question about something visual, like your favorite colour, your eyes go up and to the left. Neurophysiology tells us your eyes go in that direction, because you’re accessing the visual cortex. So you’re telling the truth. If your eyes go up and right, you’re accessing the brain’s creative centers and we know you’re full of shit!”

Wow, i never really thought of that before, you know… Who knows, this might come in handy someday! *wink*

That was not the only enlightening and enriching sharing session we covered today (putting the sharing session of PTS Interventions out of the picture..whoopsie!).

Some tips on detecting lies through gestures were also being shared. Apparently,

the following techniques to tell if someone is lying are often used by police, and security experts. This knowledge is also useful for managers, employers, and for anyone to use in everyday situations where telling the truth from a lie can help prevent you from being a victim of fraud/scams and other deceptions.

Lesson No. 1 : Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space.

Lesson No. 2: A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact.

Lesson No. 3: Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand.

Lesson No. 4: Timing and duration of emotional gestures and emotions are off a normal pace. The display of emotion is delayed, stays longer it would naturally, then stops suddenly.

Lesson No. 5: Timing is off between emotions gestures/expressions and words. Example: Someone says "I love it!" when receiving a gift, and then smile after making that statement, rather then at the same time the statement is made.

Lesson No. 6: Gestures/expressions don’t match the verbal statement, such as frowning when saying “I love you.”

Lesson No. 7: Expressions are limited to mouth movements when someone is faking emotions (like happy, surprised, sad, awe) instead of the whole face. For example; when someone smiles naturally their whole face is involved: jaw/cheek movement, eyes and forehead push down, etc.

Lesson No. 8: A guilty person gets defensive. An innocent person will often go on the offensive.

Lesson No. 9: A liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner/accuser and may turn his head or body away.

Lesson No. 10: A liar might unconsciously place objects (book, coffee cup, etc.) between themselves and you.

Lesson No.. 11: A liar will use your words to make answer a question. When asked, “Did you eat the last cookie?” The liar answers, “No, I did not eat the last cookie.”

Lesson No.. 12: A statement with a contraction is more likely to be truthful: “ I didn’t do it” instead of “I did not do it”

Lesson No.. 13: Liars sometimes avoid "lying" by not making direct statements. They imply answers instead of denying something directly.

Lesson No.. 14: The guilty person may speak more than natural, adding unnecessary details to convince you… they are not comfortable with silence or pauses in the conversation.

Lesson No.. 15: A liar may leave out pronouns and speak in a monotonous tone. When a truthful statement is made the pronoun is emphasized as much or more than the rest of the words in a statement.

Lesson No.. 16: Words may be garbled and spoken softly, and syntax and grammar may be off. In other words, his sentences will likely be muddled rather than emphasized.

Lesson No.. 17: If you believe someone is lying, then change subject of a conversation quickly, a liar follows along willingly and becomes more relaxed. The guilty wants the subject changed; an innocent person may be confused by the sudden change in topics and will want to back to the previous subject.

Lesson No.. 18: Using humor or sarcasm to avoid a subject.

My oh my, some situations are rather “Deja Vu” to me, i tell ya~

From now on, it’s straight up! No more messing around, eyh~ Else, this so-called “Lie Detector” will definitely turn nasty!~

Be scared. Be really really scared.

The key to detect deception is just by being OBSERVANT… (So, behave!~)

Don’t let this get onto your nerves though. When you don’t have to worry about getting the truth, you can relax and allow real long-term trust to develop rather than letting suspicion cripple your relationship with others.

Errhowever, I must say that sometimes, IGNORANCE IS BLISS; after gaining this knowledge, you may be hurt when it is obvious that someone is lying to you…

Lesson No.. 1 : Don’t be foolish.

Lesson No.. 2 : Percaya Kepada Qada’ & Qadar. What goes around, comes around~

*Krrrriiiinnnnngggggggggg*………..Class dismiss!~ =P

Snapshotz_2

Say cheese!!! *snap*  *snap* ~

“There are moments in one’s life that needs to be captured in one’s memory because it became precious to one’s existence. Photographs– help us to remember and reminiscence the events that left us joy & struggles and inspire us to the rest of our lives…”

I have a confession to make. When it comes to taking pictures, I’m addicted. I have a bad habit of getting caught up in the moment, people sometimes think that I am a Papparazi — that people either gave me a peace sign or a one finger salute whenever I snap their pictures.

Every picture taken holds memories that live on well after the moment has passed. In the chaos of our everyday lives, we often tend to miss the details of any given moment. This is where snapping photos come in handy. Which explains my digicam as one of the item stashed inside my bulky handbag amongst others– such as purse, handphone, pepper spray (watchout!), expired lozenges (from last year’s), lizard’s poop or cockroach’s egg capsule etc. — which I tend to carry wherever i go. With pictures, we are able to freeze the moment with a click and relieve it whenever we want.

Observation of surroundings, nature, peculiar behaviour, genuine emotions or body language — I sometimes tend to rush my shots with fear that the image I intend to capture will disappear in the blink of any eye (or at least as quickly as they saw me whip out my camera). Yikes, some people do think I’m crazy + nosey! Creepy hobby as it may sounds like, i care not as i know my kind intention (nawaitu) & i’m pretty much aware of the boundary.

As cliché as it may sound, every photo really does tell a tale of life where you can turn an ordinary outing into a wonderful story…with a little help of captions (and background music), of course! Indeed montage spoke to the power of pictures or videos. To immortalize the moments we would love to live in forever.

I must say that my photo shoot techniques & editing ability is still at an amateur level. Plus the gizmos i’m using are incomparable with those state-of-the-art technologies (i.e: D-SLR, comprehensive photo editing softwares etc.). However, this hobby seemed to be a phenomenon. Some people that i know even invested a lot in this hobby which they considered their passion infact they took one step further by making a living out of this.

I salute you guys! Sila tunjuk ajarku, sifu~

Hmm, with that said … photo editing. video editing. scribbling. strumming. singing. sleeping — yeah, these are amongst the things i like to do just to take my mind off work…
